Did you know the 110 year old Pemberton Mill Hall has had many lives?
It’s been a town hall, school room community facility, Red Cross bloodbank and cinema. It even featured in the filming of the ‘Jasper Jones’ movie!
The historic building is actually best known for hosting dances, weddings and fairs – which thanks to a $62,340 Lotterywest grant and the dedicated efforts of local volunteers - now includes a shiny new commercial kitchen!
It was such a pleasure to be at the official opening on the weekend and see firsthand the committee’s hard work to ensure the Mill Hall continues to evolve as a much loved community asset.
This project was completely community driven - for the benefit of the community - and that’s what makes it so special.
From inception to completion, it was a huge undertaking for the entire committee of volunteers and I want to thank and congratulate all those involved
So if you’re in the Pemberton area, book yourselves in for some culinary delights and hire out this incredible space!
